Derrick Jackson

Derrick Jackson is a progressive leader with a strong commitment to justice reforms and community service in Washtenaw County. His journey began at Ozone House, where he worked with Washtenaw County Clerk Lawrence Kestenbaym. In 2009, Derrick joined the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, where he spent 14 years transforming traditional policing strategies. He graduated from the police academy at Schoolcraft College in 2012. Derrick, a proud father of three daughters, is deeply rooted in western Washtenaw and metro Detroit, raising his family in Ypsilanti Township.
